I walk outside with reverence
And breathe deeply,
Inhaling the scent of the countryside:
My second home.
The stars in the inky sky
Are veiled now and again
By the lazily drifting clouds.
The air is mild,
A slight breeze catches at my hair,
Tendrils of flame tickling my bare shoulders.
I breathe in again, scents and vivid images
Reaching out to the very edges of my soul,
Smoothing worn patches and frayed ends.
Scorpio appears in the sky
(How long have I been standing?)
Antares the red giant flickers tauntingly,
Reflected in emerald eyes misted with tears.

Perhaps having a reverence for the stars is a scorpio thing, but I know this really hit home for me. Kudos!
And it's so amazing to see artwork and poetry by fellow scorpios!
