Artist's Comments

Today I started doing a Gothic "C", to continue with the "initials" theme (my last name begins with C), but then I decided I wanted to do a whole illumination... So I picked this line from the O Fortuna movement of Carmina Burana (Carl Orff) - namely because it was the only one I could remember - and did it instead.

Coloured digitally, but I figure it still fits in the Trad. Art category.

This is neat. I love those little leaves.

Thanks! I like the leaves, too, though they're time consuming! Isn't it strange, though, that today's stereotypical images of "Gothic" things are so very different to what Gothic imagery is? I mean, looking through the book I have, all the Gothic illuminations are actually quite flowery! :giggle:
